This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we have a large stock of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can generally perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
