This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This part is intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm a replacement board will solve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many Seagate PCBs contain unique data stored in the ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot move the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
