This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for use in data recovery and HDD repair. Before attempting a replacement, verify compatibility using our Donor Matching Guide and run diagnostics with our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to confirm a PCB swap is the correct repair. Many hard drive PCBs store unique data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is essential for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
