This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we hold a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are meant for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Many Seagate PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
