This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
