This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the pictured item. The PCB is intended for use in data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM “memory” chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement PCB or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
