This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the item you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery use, this PCB can be a replacement part when diagnosing a non-functional drive. To confirm whether swapping the PCB will resolve your problem, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique configuration data in the ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If a chip transplant is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
