This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock many PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the picture. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery work. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCBs store unique drive-specific data in the ROM (memory) chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or programs the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
