This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for data recovery and HDD repair, this Seagate PCB is intended as a replacement board for compatible 3.5" SATA drives. Most Seagate boards store unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform it. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
