This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended for data recovery and hard drive repair use. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for proper operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If transplanting the chip is feasible, a local computer technician should be able to perform the task. For customers who prefer assistance, purchases of $60 or more include a complimentary adaptation service that provides either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
