Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photograph. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery projects. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs include unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be moved or copied onto the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the work. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
