This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is NOT included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the pictured item. These PCBs are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer professional can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
