This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / Logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photos. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board, or the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
