Item is a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. To verify that replacing the PCB will resolve your problem, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide. Confirm part compatibility by consulting the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement circuit board. If the chip can be transplanted to the new PCB, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
