This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the disk drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for data recovery and hard drive repair work. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information in the ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; alternatively, for purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM data.
