Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we have a large stock of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Before purchasing, review our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, and check compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
