Sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most hard drive PCBs contain a unique ROM "memory" chip that holds required configuration data; the ROM or its contents must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board for the drive to function properly. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
