This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock many matching PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for HDD repair and data-recovery work. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique data stored in the ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly and must be transferred or copied to the replacement board. If a chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the operation. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either move the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
