Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery applications. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards hold unique data in the ROM "memory" chip; this information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its stored data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
