Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB shipped may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Most HDD PCBs hold unique ROM data that is required for normal drive operation; the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board for the drive to function. If the ROM chip can be moved physically, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service covering either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
