This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. We stock a large number of PCBs, so the unit you receive may differ slightly from the pictured item. These boards are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery procedures. Many hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board for proper operation. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service which includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
