This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery operations. Most drive circuit boards store unique information in the ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for the drive to work correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
