This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we ship from a large inventory, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation; that chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be transplanted, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
