Sale is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board ONLY — no physical hard drive included. Because we maintain a large stock of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate SATA 3.5 PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
