This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are meant for data recovery and HDD repair work. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function properly; that ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If moving the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer.
