This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of compatible PCBs, the item you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. These replacement boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for correct operation; the ROM chip or its data must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform this yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
