This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair. Many Seagate PCBs store unique drive firmware and configuration in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If you are not comfortable doing the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the new board with the correct ROM data.
