Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Before purchasing, confirm this replacement will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer professional should be able to perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
