This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery, this replacement board must be matched and adapted correctly to work with your drive. Most drive PCBs contain unique calibration data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function. You will need to transfer the ROM chip or its data to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the chip transplant yourself, a local computer technician can usually do the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service which either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
