This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Most Seagate PCBs store unique settings in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either migrates the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
