Item is the hard drive PCB (logic board) only — the physical Seagate drive is NOT included. We maintain a large inventory of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB replacement will address your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs contain critical, unique data stored in the ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the replacement must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If you prefer professional help, a local computer technician can often move the chip. For orders of $60 or more, we include complimentary adaptation service which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
