This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the specific board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most hard drive PCBs store unique firmware data in a ROM memory chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers with purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
