This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most Seagate PCBs include unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually move the chip for you. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
