This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / Logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we have a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for data recovery or hard drive repair work. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique parameters in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board — if you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually do it. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or programs the new board with the correct ROM data.
