This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for data recovery and HDD repair, this replacement board is intended to be used as a repair part; it will not automatically fix every drive issue. Most PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for correct drive operation. That ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board, either by moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or by reprogramming the board with the correct ROM contents. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip for you. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
