This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended uses: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our Hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique firmware data stored in a ROM (often called the "memory" chip) that is required for correct drive operation. That ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant; otherwise the ROM data needs to be reprogrammed onto the new PCB. For customers with orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
