Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. ROM information and adaptation: Most hard drive PCBs store critical, unique data in a ROM (memory) chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform that task. For customers who purchase $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
