This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or HDD repair. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; the ROM chip or its data must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
