This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most HDD PCBs store unique information in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for proper operation; that ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers with purchases of $60 or more, we provide complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
