This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We have a large stock of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for data recovery and hard drive repair tasks. Many hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can normally transplant the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
