Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large inventory, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data-recovery purposes. Prior to purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will solve your issue by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique, drive-specific information in a ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for the drive to function properly and must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant; alternatively, the ROM data can be reprogrammed onto the new PCB. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new board or reprogramming the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
