This item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only. No hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photos. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, follow our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCB units contain unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM or its contents must be moved to, or programmed into, the replacement board for the drive to operate correctly. If physical transplant of the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the job. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
