This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and HDD repair. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is essential for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
