This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large inventory of compatible PCBs, the exact board shipped may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Most PCBs contain unique firmware stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation and must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot move the ROM chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
