This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the disk drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the one you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for HDD repair and data-recovery purposes. Many Seagate PCBs store unique system data in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. Customers with orders of $60 or more qualify for our complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
