This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repairs. Important: most drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in the ROM ("memory") chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly, so the ROM chip or its contents must be moved to or programmed into the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
