This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
