This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Due to our large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are sold for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before buying, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB swap will address your issue and check compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board or the replacement must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we offer a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
