This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of boards, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM chip or its data must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to your new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
