Item is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery situations. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive boards store unique parameters in a ROM ("memory") chip; transferring that chip or its ROM data to the replacement board is required for the drive to function correctly. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM data.
